Did you make a New Year resolution to get fit?

Michael did, you can hear about it in the short story 'Couch to 10k' on This is Alfred. My reading begins at 49 minutes and 40 seconds.

How nice to bump into a reader today.

'Hello, I want to say how much I enjoyed your book. It was really good (and I'm not just saying that).'

Thanks for the feedback on 'Millie & Louise' - still available from Wren's Shop.

There's a broadcast of me reading the short story 'A Different Picture' on This is Alfred. My reading begins at 51 minutes and 48 seconds.

Poetry Day In The Library

Gillingham Writing Group had several poems dotted about the Library in celebration of Poetry Day. Two of my poems were on display -The Wind & Fieldfare Gangsta Rap

A Big Shout Out to

As well as being the place to find great food and drink they are a designated retailer of

'Millie & Louise'.

Two short stories entered in competitions. Very positive feedback from one which said the 'well crafted story met the brief in a creative manner'.

I await the judge's final decision.

Exciting.

What fantastic writing you shared with me at the 'Heard Word' Bournemouth University's on-line writing group. I really enjoyed listening to new writers read their work. Thanks for the positive feedback on Tumbleweed.

So nice to be at the Post Office today, posting copies of both 'Millie & Louise' and 'Sheep's Clothing' to an excited reader (who lives in South Africa), when an actual, in the flesh, reader told me she was "So enjoying Millie & Louise, and was having to fend off her friend who lives in France and wants to read it."

You meet the nicest people in the Post Office, don't you.

Storm Henk - what a wet and windy week it was. Not all bad news though. Chatting to a fellow traveller on the delayed (almost) homeward bound train I happened to mention Millie & Louise. She whipped out the book from her handbag. She'd just finished it on her journey. She "looks forward to the next book!" Thanks J.

First They Came For The Teachers

Namechecked on Gillingham Library Facebook Page - yes that was one of mine in the Anthology.                        You can read it in my July Newsletter.

Gillingham (Dorset) Writing Group Anthology

Cover of anthology.png

We've created an anthology.

We have left a few copies in the local library with a view to getting our work out there and possibly attracting some new writers to join us?

Seems to have done the trick as we have two new members and maybe even a third.

Lovely to read both the poetry and prose from such a diverse group of writers.

I've got three short stories in amongst the list, I wonder if you can guess which ones are mine?

Poetic Gillingham (Dorset) Writing Group

What a treat to sit with the other members of the Gillingham (Dorset) Writing Group today. I heard such a variety of poetry. As a group we are going to enter a competition. The diversity of the poems presented was fascinating. I ducked out of submitting a poem but will enter a short story for our Group Entry.

Here's Some I Made Earlier
